Harlem: Strivers’ Row Home Tour

Author and Harlem historian, Michael Henry Adams lead a tour of Harlem’s historic Strivers’ Row, a set of 160 row houses on West 138th and West 139th streets, between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and Fredrick Douglas Boulevard.   These houses were originally called ”King Model Houses” named after their developer David H. King, Jr.  It wasn’t until blacks were able to purchase these homes as the whites were leaving Harlem that Strivers’ Row got its popular name.
